Maybe some of you saw “Meet the Press” today (Sunday June 23,2013) … but I am sure that fewer of you saw this article in the Atlantic Wire.:
The article started off wrong and made me angry.. angry enough I wrote this below in the comment section. I take no prisoners.. I call everyone out in this comment.. and rightfully so I think The real question I leave is will the press go along with extremism in so-called “Investigative Journalism” or will they grow a pair and cal Greenwald out how he has handled this situation?
The FIRST paragraph of this article make me angry. I am by no means a fan of David Gregory I hate what he has done with Meet the Press and find him for the most part a spineless panderer to people on his show who only want to spew “Talking Points” and lack substance beyond their respective political agenda…. I do NOT like him is a pretty obvious statement after that ripping.
But this article stated that Gregory insulted Greenwald and called him a criminal when NO SUCH STATEMENT WAS MADE. that is yellow journalism, the kind that is destroying the reputation of responsible journalists. he did ask Greenwald if he should be treated as one given the amount of culpability Greenwald has had in this story.
I find Glenn Greenwald’s actions reprehensible and that he admitted today that he has classified documents in his possession that could hurt the USA beyond where HE feels he wants to hurt and humiliate the USA is in effect a crime to have those in his possession.
The other information that Snowden has stolen is critical to the safety of our people in other countries and Snowden has held this over the head of the USA to supposedly protect himself … No reasonable person would accept such actions. They are undoubtedly Criminal in nature.. and while Gregory did NOT call Greenwald a criminal.. I will make that statement based upon what he actually said today.
The Freedom of the press.. and the obligation of the press in a free society has been dealt a huge blow by the actions of not only the traitor Snowden but also that of what now appears to be his co-conspirator.
I have been suspicious of all this since Greenwald first said he spoke to Snowden in February.. and Snowden was not hired until March by Booz… this inconsistency has made me wonder frequently if Greenwald used Snowden to further his “Investigator Journalist” career and to cajole or influence Snowden STEALING MORE than what was needed to prove a Whistle Blower Allegation.
The Question for me in all of this is: “DOES THE PRESS HAVE THE BALLS TO TAKE ON ONE OF THEIR OWN FOR GOING BEYOND REASONABLE ACTIONS AND MAKING THE REST OF THE JOURNALISTS LOOK LIKE UNTRUSTWORTHY ACTIVISTS.”
Greenwalds actions were WONG. They went beyond the rights of his profession and have endangered more people than care about this so-called revelation.. but what angers me about Greenwald is the ADDITIONAL information he has been given and still has.. and for that he needs to go to jail himself if not as an accessory before the fact in encouraging Snowden as far back as February BEFORE he stole or was even employeed by Booz but at least after the fact by hiding critical stolen document with malice towards the NSA and the USA.
OK Mr and Ms Journalist.. JUSTIFY Greenwald or denounce him for going to far.. the choice is yours and the public will decide who is better for being reasonable or who is untrustworthy as honor among thieves will be their motto.
And Mr Gregory, do not feel vindicated by me.. I really do NOT like what you have done to Meet the Press.. not at all.
